Martha E.
Hisrich
Jul 30, 1940 — Jun 8, 2017
Martha "Marty" E. Hisrich, age 76 of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Cincinnati, OH. Born at her home in Franklin County, IN on July 30, 1940 she is the daughter of the late Alfred & Flora (Meyer) Thie.
In 1958, her senior year at Batesville High School, she was crowned homecoming queen. She was a member of Batesville United Methodist Church. On June 8, 1963, she married William "Bill" Hisrich at St. John Huntersville. Marty was Mother of Rainbow Girls for several years, was a former member of OES & Phi Beta Psi Sorority and 50-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Prell-Bland Post 271.
She loved to travel and listen to gospel music. She loved sitting outside with her grandkids eating popsicles or her all time favorite, orange tootsie pops, and watching the birds flock to her many birdfeeders (especially cardinals, they were her favorite). She enjoyed nothing more than cooking for family and many honorary family members. She was known for her "Marty's Famous Ribs", pool mix, and funeral cake. Though she may have only 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren, Marty was "Mom" and "Mamaw" to many.
Marty is survived by her husband Bill Hisrich and daughters Elizabeth Hisrich of Versailles, IN and Angie Quebman (Brian) of Cincinnati, OH. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Kyle Hisrich-Riehle, Cody Ryan, Suzanne Kerbo, Aiden Quebman, & Avery Quebman; great grandchildren Madilyn Riehle & Greyson Riehle and her sister Deloris Brebberman (Art) of Batesville, IN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ervin & Melvin Thie.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 11am until time of services at 1pm all at Batesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Renick officiating. Burial will follow in the Methodist Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to BHS Homecoming Queen Fund c/o Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006. Online condolences at www.meyersfuneralhomes.com
