Mary F. "Babs" Egbert (nee Flannery), age 97 of Batesville, IN formerly of Elizabethtown, OH passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in Jenkinsburg, GA. Born November 19, 1916 in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of John J. & Harriet (Knudsen) Flannery. Mary married George Raymond Egbert on August 1942 in Cleveland, OH. She retired from the I.R.S. as a tax examiner and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Teachers Associating of Canada. She also taught Scottish Highland Dancing. Mary is survived by her sons John Jesse Egbert of Jenkinsburg, GA & Edward Egbert of Batesville, IN and step children Carolyn Duwell of Cincinnati, OH and Ronald Raymond Egbert of Painesville, OH. She will also be missed by 10 grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, her sisters Anne Sullivan & Josephine Creighton and her brother Edward John Flannery who was killed in WWII. Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 6-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home followed by a Memorial service at 8pm. Burial will be in Friday at Egbert Cemetery in Tiffin, OH.
