Mary Lou Backor, age 84 passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her home in Batesville, IN. Born July 21, 1931 in Batesville, she was the daughter of John & Elsie (York) Thielking.

Mary Lou was a 1949 graduate of Batesville High School and a graduate of McMurry College in Illinois. She retired from teaching at Yorktown Elementary School in Muncie, IN. Among her many hobbies, she especially enjoyed reading, writing and politics.

Mary Lou is survived by her brother & sister-in-law Carl & Alice Thielking. She will also be missed by her niece Ann Wernke, nephews Jeff & Mitch Thielking , 10 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece Vicki Kennedy and 1 great nephew.

Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2015 from 11am until time of services at 12:00 noon at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Rev. Dave Johnston officiating.
