Mary Catherine Horstman, age 90 of Batesville, IN passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born March 21, 1921 in Franklin County, IN she was the daughter of the late John & Josephine (Merchen) Horstman. She worked for 31 years at Batesville Casket before she retired in 1986. She was also a lifelong farmer. Mary enjoyed going to the senior citizens center in Brookville four times a week and eating & playing cards. Mary is survived by her sister Viola Bruns of Batesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Arthur Horstman. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2011 from 9:30am until time of service at 11:00am all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John Cemetery or Morris Fire Dept. c/o the funeral home.
