Mary Agnes Petrella (nee: Kenney), age 90 of Batesville, Indiana and formerly of Olmsted Falls, OH passed away peacefully at her home in Batesville on Saturday, July 25, 2015. She was born January 25, 1925 in New Eagle, Pennsylvania. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John Charles Petrella. She was known for her great laugh and smile. She was a grandmother to all. Mary had a deep faith and commitment to family. Mary always had a sparkle in her eyes and a great laugh, especially when she was with her family and friends. Her kids nick-named her Rock Star, because she loved to stay up all night and sleep all day. She derived tremendous joy these past 4 years watching all of her grandchildren's sports events, concerts and plays. She was a huge Batesville Bulldog basketball fan and was a fan favorite for banging her cane on the court during suspenseful games. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her son Jack Petrella of Medina, OH, son and daughter-in-law David & Linda Petrella of Berea, OH and daughter and son-in-law Tina & Brad Longstreth of Batesville, along with her grandchildren Nathan, Erin & Adam Longstreth of Batesville. Visitation is Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5-7pm followed by a memorial service at 7pm all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Pastor Seth Bartal officiating. Mary was very proud of her granddaughter's involvement in supporting the good works of Safe Passage. Therefore the family requests memorials are directed to Safe Passage, Inc., in Mary's name c/o the funeral home.
