Maurice E. Rogers, 95, Batesville, died Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Waters in Batesville. Born December 29, 1919, in Park Rapids, Minnesota, he was the son of Keith & Alice (Granloff) Rogers. Maurice graduated from high school in Park Rapids, and earned an associates degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. On September 10, 1949, he married Grace Urbanick at Clearing Bible Church in Chicago. He began his career at Western Electric Company and worked for the Delco Radio Division of General Motors Corporation in Chicago and then Kokomo, Indiana, for 40 years. After he retired he served as business manager at Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo. His interest include short wave radio, gardening, mechanical work, and carpentry. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was very involved in his church. He taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife, Grace, sons Keith Rogers of Batesville, Ken (Marie) Rogers of Indianapolis, Dan (JoAnn) Rogers of Batesville, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and also his sister, Virginia Swanson. Visitation is 5:30 - 6:30 P.M. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E, Batesville, IN with the funeral services following at 6:30 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens in Kokomo, Indiana at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 5th. Memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church, Batesville, IN c/o the funeral home.
