Michael John Urban of Sunman (Twin Oaks) Indiana, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away at his home on Monday, March 9, 2020. The son of Stephen and Alvina (nee: Schwab) Urban was born in 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was 73 years old.

Mike graduated from LaSalle High School in 1965.  He went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married Ellen Geier on November 23, 1980.  In 1995 he retired from Cincinnati Bell where he had worked as a Switching Equipment Tech for many years.

Mike as most knew him was cycling enthusiast.  He and Ellen spent a lot of time bicycling through different states.  He rode on an unforgettable ride with America by Bicycle on a trip across America from San Francisco to Portsmouth, NH, a proud accomplishment for him.  Mike enjoyed fitness and was a spin instructor at the Batesville YMCA and taught TRX there as well. Spending time in the garden and with their horses were also favorites of his.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Ellen, son Doug Geier (Amy Potthast) and daughter Sandy Doyle; two grandchildren, Herman and Allen Geier; and his sister Barbara Streckfuss.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 4-6pm with a 6pm memorial service all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.  Rev. William Powlen officiating. With military honors immediately after by the Ripley County VFW Post 3183 and Prell-Brand American Legion Post 271.
