Mildred Ida Giblin, age 85 years of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Batesville. Born September 12, 1924 in Penntown, IN she was the daughter of the late William & Ida (Richter) Baas. She married Freeman Giblin on June 18, 1947 in Penntown and retired from McPherson's in Sunman. She was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Penntown and the church ladies aid. Mrs. Giblin is survived by her husband Freeman Giblin, daughter Sheryl (Paul) Voss of Batesville, IN; grandchildren Amy (Joe) Rippe and Doug Voss; great grandchildren Addyson & Aidan Rippe and Kohlson, Lauren & Preston Voss. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Roberta Giblin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Elsie Scholl and brother Herbert Baas. Visitation will be Saturday from 11-1pm followed by services at 1pm all at St. John UCC in Penntown with Rev. Peter Frye officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Margaret Mary Hospice or St. John UCC Penntown c/o the funeral home.
