Milton J. Kessens, age 97 of Batesville, IN passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born January 27, 1915 in Batesville, he was the son of the late Charles & Anna (Westerfeld) Kessens. The US Army WWII veteran of the 149th Infantry was a retired welder from Batesville Casket Co. at the age of 62. He was also a life long farmer. Mr. Kessens married Marian Kramer-Williamson on January 25, 1964 in Batesville. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads and the FOE Aerie 1130 in Batesville. Mr. Kessens is survived by his wife Marian Kessens, children Linda (Conley) Beard of Oldenburg, IN, Dale (Debby) Williamson of Batesville, IN & Donna (the late David) Miller of Batesville, IN. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Jeff & Greg Williamson, Kelley Ferrantelli, Kristina Hartman & Nick Miller Sr.; great grandchildren Christina McVay, Danielle Williamson, Kaylee Williamson, Kyle Williamson, Nicholas Miller Jr., Makiha Miller, Zackery Hartman & Makenna Hartman; his brother Alvin Kessens of Batesville, IN and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Carl & Harvey Kessens. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 4-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads with Pastor Robin Owen officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery, Crossroads with graveside military services. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Cemetery or St. Marks Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
