Nancy Carol Mergenthal, age 62 years passed away unexpectantly Sat. June 20, 2009 at her home in Indianapolis, IN. Born August 23, 1946 in Batesville, IN she was the daughter of the late Emmet & Ruth (Siebert) Mergenthal. She retired from Clarion Health Systems as a Registered Medical Technologist and was an ordained minister. She graduated in 1964 from Batesville High School and 1968 from Ball State. She later received her Masters in Psychology at Ball State & Masters of Divinity from the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis and held standing in her two denominations. She was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville & Allisonville Christian Church in Indianapolis. Nancy was very active and enjoyed writing poems & liturgy. She had many of her writings published. She enjoyed working with senior citizens and loved children & pets. She is survived by her sister Linda (Bill) Loftus of Elkhart, IN and brothers James (Sondra) Mergenthal of Fort Wayne, IN and Curt (Brenda) Mergenthal of Batesville, IN. She will also be missed by her 1 niece, 3 nephews, 3 great nieces & 2 great nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, June 25th from 5-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, 500 W. Pearl St., Batesville, IN 47006 & 1 hr. prior services at church. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00am at St. John UCC, 300 N. Huntersville, Batesville, IN 47006 with Rev. David Johnston & Rev. Bob Reister officiating. Burial will be in St. John Huntersville Cemetery.
