Obituary

Naomi Horstman-Schebler of Batesville passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, IN. She lost her battle with cancer at the young age of 69.

On October 28, 1961 she married James Horstman and he died on April 24, 2008. Then on May 31, 2013 Naomi married Cyril P. Schebler in Batesville.

Naomi worked in the Batesville High School cafeteria and later at the Hampton Inn as the head of their Housekeeping. The Batesville United Methodist Church member also served as the custodian for many years. She was also a member of the Aerie 927 Eagles Auxiliary in Greensburg.

Naomi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved her friends and family more than anything in the world. Tatting, sewing, crocheting were some of her favorite hobbies. She loved making crocheted blankets and sewing projects for her family to decorate their houses. You could always find her with a Diet Coke (from McDonald's, of course) and Reese's Cups. And if they weren't with her, they were surely in her fridge.

One of Naomi's newest hobbies was Face-booking and playing Candy Crush on her new iPad...she made it to level 50! Wanting to stay connected with everyone, she was always taking pictures and emailing friends. On the weekends, Naomi was usually out at the Eagles dancing to Rocky Top, eating out with friends, or visiting her new great-grandchildren, Ellie and Dustin. She enjoyed taking various Croswell bus tours with Cyril and friends new places. Naomi was a wonderful, beautiful woman who lived life to the fullest. She will be remembered as someone who loved to have fun, make jokes, and spoil her family. Every time you drive by 418 Park Ave., always remember to picture the sweet lady sitting on porch yelling, "Hey, guys!"

Naomi Horstman Schebler, you will be forever loved and missed by your children - Carolyn (Doug) Werner of Miamisburg, OH, Wanda (Bobby) Bane of Batesville, Marlene (Harold) Mang of West Chester, OH and Edwin Horstman of Batesville; grandchildren - Kara Whittington, Stephanie Feller, Deborah Simpkins, Ryan Werner and Noah, Lauren & Carter Mang; and great grandchildren Dustin Whittington & Ellie Simpkins.
