Nixie Beason Koelling, age 90 of Batesville, IN, formerly of Lawrenceburg, IN & San Diego, CA passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, IN. Born April 3, 1920 in Collyer, KS she was the daughter of the late Stephen Montroville & Mildred Euphemia (Cass) Beason. On September 10, 1942 she married Lloyd Alfred Koelling in Louisville, KY. Nixie taught math at Southside School in Aurora, IN; Bright High School in Bright, IN; North Dearborn High School in Guilford, IN & East Central High School in St. Leon, IN. She was a member of the Hilltoppers Quilting Club in Guilford, IN, she played duplicate bridge and progressive bridge, she golfed and was a golf coach and compiled family histories. She was a member of Batesville Christian Church in Batesville, IN and Zion Church in Lawrenceburg, IN. Nixie is survived by her children JoDell Steuver of Aurora, IN; James Kent Koelling of Lawton, OK; Kyle Koelling of Lawrenceburg, IN & Julia K. Seibel of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren John (Darci) Koelling of Denver, CO; Capt. Jared (Capt. Callie) Koelling of Germany; Alyssa Koelling of Marion, OH; Coby (Leslie) Lambert of Lawrenceburg, IN; Michael C. Armstrong of Vero Beach, FL; Christopher Seibel of Sebastian, FL; MarDell (Tom) Williams & Kip (Cara) Main both of Batesville, IN and 12 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings Muriel Beason Cook of San Antonio, TX and Helen Url Beason Bryant of Lake Tahoe, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Alfred Koelling and son Michael Koelling. Visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2011 from 5-7pm at Batesville Christian Church followed by services at 7:00pm with Pastor Steve Yeaton officiating. Her body is being donated to the UC Medical School. Memorials are suggested to The Salvation Army, Batesville Christian Church, or Koelling Scholarship Fund @ Ripley Co. Foundation.
