Obituary

Patricia (Wycoff) Hare, age 92, of Hampton Township, PA formerly of Batesville, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Born February 18, 1930 in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Paul V. and Blanche (Beck) Wycoff and sister of the late George. Patricia was married to Clyde W. "Red" Hare, Jr., in August 1952 until his passing in 2009.

Patricia was a graduate of Batesville High School, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She worked at TWA and later was the office manager for Clyde's photography business. She enjoyed learning and continued taking classes throughout her life. She also taught many about the environment in various settings from CCAC, the Hampton School District annual 5th grade program, and both Girl Scouts and Boy Scout programs. Patricia and Clyde led many trips for backpacking, canoeing, bicycling and skiing, sharing their love of nature.

Patricia was a founding member of North Area Environmental Council (NAEC) in 1969. Her service there and at township committees, Audubon Society and Allegheny Land Trust helped to educate others, save and protect the natural resources in this area. She was recognized for her dedication and work in this field.

She was an active member of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church in Allison Park, involved with adult Sunday School Studies and creating the Prayer Garden.

She is survived by her three sons, Paul (Susan) Hare, of Ballston Lake, NY; Timothy (Diana) Hare of Wexford, PA and Gerald Hare, of Allison Park; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Corinne, Brandon(fiancée, Casey O'Neil) and Ryan Hare. Also survived by a nephew and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in Batesville.
