Pauline Alvina Irma Schone, age 79 of Batesville, IN passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. Andrews Health Care Campus. The daughter Harry and Norma (Behlmer) Galle was born on July 7, 1936 in Batesville, IN. Pauline married John Schone at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Batesville on July 18, 1959. She graduated from Batesville High School and Indiana University where she also received her master's degree. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Batesville and the Ripley County Retired Teachers Association. Pauline dedicated 40 years to educating children in the Batesville School System. Her students left the classroom with a greater appreciation for science. Those close to her would say her whole life was spent teaching. Daily experiences were turned into educational lessons. From a simple Saturday on the farm, to a family vacation, everything in life was a teachable moment. She is survived by her husband, John, daughter Diena Beyer (Jay) of Aurora, IN and son Evan Schone (Becky) of East Greenville, PA; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Shannon &Mary Christine Schone and Leah & Ethan Beyer; along with her sister Carolyn Highfield (Bob) of Indianapolis, IN. Visitation is Friday 5-8pm at St. John United Church of Christ (Huntersville). Funeral Service 11:00am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. John United Church of Christ, Batesville. Rev. Joseph Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or St. John UCC.
