Ralph Clark Stirn, age 90 of Batesville, IN passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Waters of Batesville. Born on May 8, 1924 in Franklin County, IN he was the only child of Elvin & Caroline (Gard) Stirn. He married Eileen Schutte-Steingruber and they lived on the farm. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during WWII. The lifelong farmer was the custodian at St. Mark Lutheran church for 20 years and a member there as well. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #271 and the Indiana Farm Bureau. Ralph was very willing to help anyone and he knew no strangers. His family was his pride and joy. Ralph could work on all kinds of equipment and fix almost anything. He loved to tinker in his workshop and made birdhouses and all kinds of woodworking items for others. He will be missed by his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his wife, Eileen; son, Stephen (Brenda) Stirn; daughter, Barbara (Rick) Lehmkuhl; step-son, Stephen Steingruber; step-daughters, Sharon (Stephen) Bedel and Sue (Jerry) Mauer along with 7 grandchildren, Amanda, Sara, Matt, Renee, Curt, Stacy & Eric and 5 great grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Avery, Kaylynn & Jayla. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 11-12noon at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Batesville with Funeral Services immediately following at 12noon. Rev. Jill Kepler Campbell officiating. Memorials may be given to St. Mark Lutheran Church c/o the funeral home.
