Richard Jacob Wilhelm, age 85 years of Harrison, OH passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at his home. Born April 24, 1922 in South Gate, IN he was the son of the late Carl R. & Ardel H. (Stumpf) Wilhelm. He graduated from Brookville High School in 1941 & was a self-employed, retired metal fabricator. He married Loverna T. Stenger on September 14, 1946 at St. Joseph's Church in St. Leon, IN. Mr. Wilhelm was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, OH & lifetime member of the Harrison VFW. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving in German & Japan. He was awarded the Bronze Star & the Purple Heart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jared D. Rodgers, MD and to the Cincinnati VA Hospital & Staff. Mr. Wilhelm is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loverna T. Wilhelm, son Eric R. (Melodie) Wilhelm & daughter Julia (Greg) Guilfoyle both of Harrison, OH. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Eric J., Aaron C. & Jacob B. Wilhelm & G. Cameron Guilfoyle, 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Carl R. "Cap" Wilhelm. Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 10-11am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM all at St. John the Baptist Church in Harrison, OH with Father Edward Shine officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Harrison Funeral Detail. Memorials are suggested to the American Liver Foundation c/o the funeral home.
