Robert Boone, age 97, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, in Yuma, AZ. Born August 15, 1917 in Sharon Springs, KS. He was the son of John and Blanche (Roach) Boone. The WWII Army Veteran graduated from Sharon Springs High School and attended The University of Kansas. He worked for many years selling construction materials for Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Anning-Johnson, Linaburry Brick and Block, and finally Southeastern Foam. He has been a member of the United Methodist Church all of his life and wanted to be remembered as "a builder of churches" because he was active on many church committees to build additions and so on. Robert is survived by his two daughters, Diane Scarritt and Daryl Evelyn Pine, as well as grandson Aaron Pine, sister Jerry Pooler and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Evelyn Mary Alice (Wuelner) Boone, he was preceded in death by nine siblings. Graveside services with military rites will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, IN with Rev. Larry Demick officiating.
