Robert Shaw Gridley, age 77 years of Batesville, IN passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Waters of Rising Sun. Born March 1, 1930 in Patriot, IN he was the son of the late Abjiah North & Mary Elizabeth (Kinnett) Gridley. He retired from the Union Furniture Factory and also worked in construction and farming. Mr. Gridley was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War and is a member of the Napoleon VFW. He married Lorraine Sloan on Feb. 19, 1971 in Osgood, IN. Mr. Gridley is survived by his wife Lorraine Gridley, sons Robert Gridley Jr. of Osgood, IN; Allen Gridley of Batesville, IN; Wesley Gridley of Kennesaw, GA & Andrew Gridley of Rushville, IN; daughters Runita Gridley of Bowling Green, KY and Susan Marie Kirkham of Batesville, IN; stepsister Valerie Anderson of Napoleon, IN and stepbrother John Anderson of Napoleon, IN; brothers William Gridley of Rising Sun, IN and David Gridley of East Enterprise, IN; 22 grandchildren & 21 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James Gridley & Gordon Gridley. Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Meyers Funral Home in Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Meyers Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Werner officiating. Burial will be in Little Memory Cemetery in Sunman, IN with military graveside rites. Memorials are suggested to the family.
