Robert Norman Jobst, age 84 of Batesville Indiana passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at St. Andrews Healthcare Campus in Batesville. Born to Fred and Margaret (Einhaus) Jobst on July 14, 1927 in Batesville, IN he was one of eight children. Robert married Elizabeth Betty Hoff at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, on February 27, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2011. Bob was a life-long farmer, but retired as a fuel truck driver for Standard Oil and drove over 20 years for the Batesville Public Schools as a bus driver. He enjoyed the many bus trips he drove for the school sporting events, and basically just liked to drive. It would take him a half hour just to get the mail, by way of Day Nite for a cinnamon roll followed by a spin thru town, only to return back home to catch grief from Betty for taking so long, just to retrieve the mail, right at the end of the driveway. Bob also liked being outdoors and doing wood working. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and friend, and will be missed very much. Bob is survived by his children Steve Jobst, Randy (Angele) Jobst, Sandy (Whitey) Weberding and Pam (Dave) Amberger, all of Batesville; grandchildren Matt (Angie) Weberding, Brad (Carrie) Weberding, Kellie (Aaron) Warnecke, Erin (Chad) Bischoff, Davin (Jacquline) Jobst, Dominique (Ryan) Siebert and Shay & Trey Jobst; great grandchildren Christian, Keegan, Kailey, Claire, Carson, Bella Weberding, Lillybeth Warnecke, Nora Bischoff, Lauren Jobst and Dakota & Savannah Siebert. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin, Louie, John & Carl Jobst and sisters, Leona Brebberman, Florence Tekulve, Esther Schwendenmann. Visitation Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4-7pm at St. John United Church of Christ (Huntersville)in Batesville, IN. Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 29th, 11:00am at St. John United Church of Christ with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend David Johnston officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association c/o the funeral home.
