Robert Dale Werner, age 70, of Batesville, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Saint Andrew's Health Campus. He was born on January 23, 1945 in Batesville, IN as the son of Paul A. and Loretta C. (Schumacher) Werner. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Werner was a retired truck driver for Hill-Rom Industries. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Werner enjoyed collecting classic cars, gardening, and fishing, coin collecting and watching professional football. Robert is survived by his daughter Heidi Werner Gross (A.J.), of Milan, IN; brothers, Paul Werner, Jr.(Joyce) of Mason, OH, Gerald J. Werner (Michelle) of Batesville, IN, Thomas C. Werner (Janice) of Batesville, IN, Keith A. Werner (Patty) of Westminster, MD, Douglas S. Werner (Carolyn) of Miamisburg, OH; sister, Mary E. Rennekamp of Brookville, IN; and 1 grandchild, Andrew Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul A. and Loretta C. (Schumacher) Werner and brothers, William J. Werner and Roland F. Werner. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 10am until 12 noon at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm at St. Louis Church, Batesville, IN. Burial with military graveside rites will be in St. Louis Church Cemetery. Memorials suggested to American Legion Post 271 c/o the funeral home.
