Ronald John Hooten, age 70 of Batesville, IN passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. He was born January 18, 1943 in Batesville to John David & Margaret Ann (Ferkenhoff) Hooten. Ronald started working at Batesville Casket Co. in the Paint Dept. then moved to Romweber and was a veneer cutter then for about 10 years he was a truck driver. Ronald loved being outdoors. He loved fishing, Nascar Racing, hunting and mushroom hunting and was very fond of his animals. He was always looking out for the neighbor kids and will be missed by them as well as all of his family. Ronald is survived by his sons & their wives Greg & Terry Hooten, Robert Hooten, Chris & Monica Hooten and David Hooten. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Bryan, Adam, Lecia, Jacob, Zander & Fletcher Hooten; great grandchildren Weston Hooten & Isabella Gutzwiller and his siblings Carolyn Griffin, Patti Wuestefeld, Debbie Kramer, Peggy Engelke, Larry Hooten & John J. Hooten. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Ronald will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 9-11am followed by Memorial Services at 11:00am with Rev. David Johnston officiating, all at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E (new location), Batesville, IN. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family or the Ripley County Humane Society.
