Rosie Sloan, 93, of Batesville passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born on January 27, 1931 in Hazard, Kentucky as the daughter of Si Martin Sloan and Ann (Bates) Martin.

Rosie spent her days tending to her beloved farm, where she raised hogs, chickens, cows, and a variety of other animals. Her green thumb thrived in her garden, where she nurtured her plants. She enjoyed cooking and her specialty was cabbage soup and corn bread. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gunter; sons: Rodney (Michelle) Sloan, Phillip Ray (Pam) Sloan, Howard Sloan, and Elmer Jr. (Holly) Sloan; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Smith officiating all at Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Adams Church Cemetery.
