Roy John William Westerfeld, age 89 years of Batesville, IN passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at St. Andrews Health Care. Born December 6, 1918 in Batesville, he was the son of the late John F. & Lucinda (Fruchtnicht) Westerfeld. He was a retired welder from Roman Nobbe & before that, worked for American Lift in Greensburg, IN. He was a WWII US Army Veteran, 341 First Engineers and member of the American Legion Post 271, VFW Post 3183 & Batesville Eagles Aerie 1130. He attended St. John United Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Faith (Adams-Jobst) Westerfeld. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half brother John Westerfeld & half sister Ruth Hunsinger. Visitation will be Monday, October 27, 2008 from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston & Rev. Juanita Wallpe officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
