Henry "Rudy" Rudolph Poettker of Batesville passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Rudy was born on January 21, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Henry & Glyn (Duncan) Poettker.  He married Patricia Kenney on November 8, 1969.

Rudy had a passion for gardening, he grew all of his own plants from seeds and even grafted tomato plants.  His garden was one of his favorite places to be. Rudy also had a talent for baking bread, he never baked just one loaf but always many at a time that he shared with family and friends. At times he even baked bread for charity events and bake sales.  Most of all, he loved being with family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be missed by his wife, Patricia; son, Rick (Kasey) Poettker of Batesville; daughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Olsen and Kirsten (Jason) Koch, both of Batesville, sons, David Poettker and Michael Poettker both of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Ethan Poettker, Jacob & Sam Koch, Lydia, Gunnar & Katie Olsen, Courtney Poettker and Michael Poettker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Poettker.

Due to the social constraints there will be a private memorial service held in July.
