Althoff, Russell Lee, age 87 years of Bright, IN passed away Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Miami Haven Nursing Home in Cleves, OH. Born November 20, 1916 in Cincinnati, OH the son of Clara Althoff & Scott Carpenter. He married LaVerne Sickmeier on August 4, 1944 and she preceded him in death in 1979. He was a member of Bright Christian Church and worked for B&O Railroad. Mr. Althoff is survived by his sons Gary (Linda) Althoff of Chesapeake, VA and Robert (Cookie) Althoff of Harrison, OH. He will also be missed by his 6 grandchildren Lee Ann Rinck, Allison Deater, Jennifer Althoff, Matthew Althoff, David Decker & Carrie Decker and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister Velma Begley. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from 9:00 am-11:00 AM followed by services at 11:00 AM all at Bright Christian Church in Bright, IN with Minister Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY. Memorials are suggested to the church.
