Rusty Reed, age 56 of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Rusty was born on December 21, 1958 to the Late James Grant Reed & Elsie (Ross) Reed-Lock of Versailles, IN. He graduated from Milan High School in 1977. On August 28, 1982 he married Connie Bohner in Hanover, IN. Rusty Reed loved life and lived it to the fullest. Rusty loved people and had countless friends along with his own family that he loved. Rusty had the wonderful ability to make friends everywhere he went and never knew a stranger. Rusty loved to sit and talk and share stories and laugh. Rusty was also a wonderful listener and always there for those who needed him for emotional support. This was especially true for his wife Connie, (of 32 years) and his daughter Faith, who he loved more than life itself. Rusty was a wonderful example of what it meant to be a devoted husband and father to all those around him. Rusty was also involved with various organizations over the years with his most recent involvement with the Crisis Incident Stress Management (CISM) team. Rusty gave his all to help people in need and was always ready to lend a hand. Rusty also had a deep compassion for youth and served countless years as a Sunday School teacher and youth coach for teens in the church. Rusty had a deep faith and love for His Lord and loved to talk about this. Rusty had great musical talent as well and sang and led worship in various churches over the years. Rusty's faith also carried him through great adversity in his life especially in the area of his own health. Rusty met every challenge head on and did so with great courage. He made a huge impact in all that he did and in the lives of everyone he touched and will be missed by many. In addition to his mother, Rusty is survived by his wife Connie Reed, his daughter Faith Reed still living at home and Chad Reed of Versailles, IN. He will also be missed by his granddaughter Natalie Reed and his sisters Kaye Vanover of Pine Knot, KY and Debbie John of Versailles, IN. Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 4pm until time of services at 7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Steve Yeaton officiating. Memorials are suggested to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN to help offset funeral expenses.
