Sandra Marie Combs (nee Saint John) at age 84. Born into this life November 18, 1928 in Arlington Heights, Ohio. Born into eternal life August 10, 2013, in Oldenburg, Indiana.

Cherished wife for 63 years of John "Jack" Combs, who survives in Oldenburg. Devoted mother of daughters Cheryl Seckel (Keith), Joni Meigs (Doug) and Randi Combs (John Howard). Treasured mother of sons Mark Combs (Barb Ewald), Sean Combs (Debby) and Rev. Ronald Combs. Doting Nana of Joanna (Matt), Tiffany (Ben), John (Jennifer), Hannah, Nicholas, Brad (Becky), Cali, Julie, Benjamin, Anna and Ross. Dear great-grandmother of Kate, Connor, Alaina, Maddie, Colin, Ryder and "one on the way." Also survived by one sister, Alice McVicker, of Milford, Ohio. Much-loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

The Combs family extends its gratitude to several people of Batesville, Indiana, for the many hours they spent visiting Sandy at home. Likewise, we are grateful for countless others from the Batesville area, as well as from Cincinnati and Carrollton, Kentucky, for their years of friendship. Similarly, we thank all of Sandy's doctors, nurses and caregivers for their kind and gentle care.

Sandy was a woman of deep faith and trust in God, lived life with a grateful heart and had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was proud of her Irish heritage, always had coffee ready for family and friends, held strong opinions on just about everything and often encouraged others to "have a smile on your face and love in your heart."

Visitation at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville on Thursday, August 15, 4-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 16, at 11:00am at St. Louis Church, Batesville. Burial will follow after lunch at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati.
