Stanley Donald Wilbur, Jr. age 71 of Batesville, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, in Batesville, IN. Born to Stanley Sr. and Elsie Wilbur in Evansville, Indiana on January 29, 1939 he was an only child. He married Kathy Bowers in October 1978 in McClainesville, IL. Stanley was good at woodworking and enjoyed his job at Heartwood Manufacturing in Batesville. He had many other intrests as well. As an avid fisherman, the Oldenburg Conservation Club member would fish there a lot. Plus he loved to play softball and golf and would go camping when he had time. His family joked that he liked 'on-line' shopping too, but most of all they will remember him as an up-beat person, who liked to make people laugh. Stanley took good care of his wife and would often cook for his whole family. He will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy; son, Scott Wilbur of Evansville; daughter, Cathy Fitzgerald of Evansville; step-daughter, Tina McReynolds (Todd) of Greensburg and 5 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Shannon Price. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 2pm until the time of the funeral service at 4pm, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN.
