Stephen Dale Wilson, 78, of Osgood, Indiana passed away on January 10, 2024. The son of Everett and Margaret (Abplanalp) Wilson was born on October 30, 1945 in Batesville, IN.

Steve graduated from Batesville High School in 1964 and Purdue University. While at Purdue he purchased his plane and began his lifetime hobby of flying. In the 70's Steve started working as an ag drainage contractor running Wilson Farm Drainage Systems. Steve was also a farmer and enjoyed his time outdoors.

For many years, he was an active member of the Decatur County Aviation Association and a member of the Indiana Land Improvement Contractors Association where he also served as President. Steve's flying led him to aerial photography as well. Most of all Steve loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved daughter, Jennifer.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Beverly (Mellencamp) Wilson; daughter, Jennifer Wilson; sister, Dorothy Jean Anderson; brothers-in-law, James Mellencamp (Sandra) and Michael Mellencamp; sister-in-law, Sara Jane Wilson along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Wilson.

Visitation will be Monday, January 15, 2024 from 5-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. On Tuesday, January 16th there will be 11:00am funeral service with an hour of visitation prior, 10-11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesville, IN, 609 Mill St., Jonesville, IN 47247. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Special Olympics Indiana - Ripley, Ohio & Dearborn Counties by bringing them to services or mailing them to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
