Thomas E. Glass, 88 of New Point, IN died July 19, 2010 at Hospice in Columbus, IN. Born Dec. 10, 1921 in Mexico, MO. He was the son of Frank & Pauline (Hardy) Glass. He married Iris Ann (Deiwert) Hatton on Dec. 28, 1973. He was a 1939 graduate of Trenton High School in Tennessee. He served 20 years in the US Army, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. He served in Europe, Korea, the Philippines and Okinawa. He received two Purple Hearts while in Germany in WWII. He later worked 10 years at a missile support site in Mason, OH & 20 years at H.C. Nutting, testing laboratory in Cincinnati, OH. His hobbies were high school & college wrestling, fishing & golf. He was a member of the Christian Church at New Point, IN and past Master of the F&AM Lodge in New Point. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Timothy (Sally) Glass of Springfield, OH; 1 daughter-in-law, Becki Glass of Addyston, OH; 2 step daughters Janet (Charles) Chandler of Lexington, KY & Sandra (Bob) Robbins of Columbus, IN; 2 stepsons Darrell (Debbie) Hatton of Greensburg, IN & Lyle Hatton of Speedway, IN; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, 1 son Michael Glass, 2 sisters and 1 brother preceded him in death. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 4-7pm and services Sat. at 10:00am all at New Point Christian Church with Pastor Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in Clarksburg, IN cemetery with military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to New Point Christian Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are through Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN.
