Obituary

Vernon Leo Blackie' Rosfeld, age 78 of Highland Center in Franklin County, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015. The son of Andrew and Alma (Theobald) Rosfeld was born on April 22, 1936 in Franklin County. Vernon married Mary Margaret Duell in St. Peters, IN on April 18, 1964. The US Army Veteran retired with 36 years in construction. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America for 50 years and a member of the Franklin County Antique Tractor Association. Blackie' as he was known to most, loved Boston Terrier dogs. He also fried a lot of chicken in his lifetime. In addition to his wife, Mary he is survived by one brother Harold Rosfeld of Batesville, IN and his nieces and nephews. Visitation 9:00am-11:30am with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, 11:30am on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 all at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peters, IN. Burial will follow in the St. Peters Church Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials may be given to the church cemetery fund, Antique Machinery Club or American Cancer Society.
