Viola Elizabeth Borgman, age 94 of Batesville, IN passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. She was born on June 29, 1919 in Batesville and was the daughter of Charles & Christine (Huth) Schmid. The Batesville High School graduate and member of St. Louis Catholic Church married Ernie Borgman on October 2, 1937 and he preceded her in death in January of 1971. Viola loved playing bingo and cards all her life. She loved to cook & bake and made many Sunday dinners, but her family laughed at the thought that she loved a clean kitchen and sometimes started cleaning up after them even before dinner was over. After her husband Ernie bought a van, Viola also enjoyed the many times they would load the family up in it and go for a long drive. Viola was not an outdoor person and her family said she was not famous but she sure was nice and good church person. Viola is survived by her daughters Nancy Allen of Batesville, Margie (Edward) Behlmer of Batesville and Linda Denninger of Columbus, IN and sons Ron (Judy) Borgman of Bryan, OH & Eugene (Linda) Borgman of Batesville. She will also be missed by 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren & 10 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Jim Borgman, sister Berdella Borgman & one infant sister. A private funeral blessing will be held for the family on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Burial will follow in St. Louis Church Cemetery.
