Viola Mae Schwier, age 91 of Osgood, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016.  The daughter of Leslie and Alma (Schweers) Pindell was born on February 25, 1925 in Manchester, IN.

On June 7, 1947 she married Carl Milton Schwier in Rising Sun, IN.  Carl passed away on June 23, 2014.

Viola was a wonderful homemaker.  She loved to be out in her garden.  She liked to can foods and bake pies - rhubarb, strawberry and black berry were her favorites.  Viola cherished her grandchildren so much that in her last few words, she asked the family to "kiss the baby for me".  Viola wanted to be with her dear husband, Carl for Christmas this year and though it breaks the hearts of those she left behind, she received her wish on Christmas Eve.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn & Mike Hinners of Pierceville, IN and Carla & Ron Neuman of Rushville, IN; sons and daughters-in-law Andy & Janice Schwier of Sunman, IN and Jeffrey & Beverly Schwier of Batesville; along with 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one brother Richard Pindell of Aurora, IN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Marion Schwier and brothers Delmar & Loren Pindell.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN and from 9-10am at church on Thursday.  Funeral Services will be 10:00am on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Stumkes Corner) in Milan, IN.  Pastor Tom Frey officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John Church Cemetery (Hubbles) in Sunman, IN.

Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
