Vivian Kay Metcalf, 62, of Batesville passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 3, 1962, to Harry Gabbard and Kay Frances Hughes.

Vivian loved life and wanted to see everyone happy. She would do anything she could to make someone smile. Her kids and grandkids were her whole life. She loved to garden and tend to flowers. Vivian was a beautiful soul that will never be forgotten.

Vivian is survived by her father, Harry; children: Matthew (Sheryl) Gabbard, Justin (Michelle) Gabbard, Brandi (Roger) Hinkle, Andrew (Candy) Howard; stepchildren: Stacey (Jason) Walke and Ryan (Rachel) Metcalf; 21 grandchildren; sisters: Angie Nutley, Tammy Gabbard, Loretta Norman, Bernice Hopkins, Michelle Widener; brothers: Skip Gabbard, Jimmy Gabbard, Jesse Gabbard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Frances; nephew, Jesse Michael Gabbard; brothers: Eli Gabbard and infant Danny Gabbard.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a 6:00 pm memorial service immediately following, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Pastor Shawn Crisman is officiating.
