Vonnie Mae Mayes, age 93 of New Point, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg, IN.  The daughter of John William and Minnie Belle (nee: Haynes) Allen was born on October 24, 1923 in Benton County, Tennessee.

On March 1, 1945 Vonnie married Troy B. Mayes in Parsons, TN.  Vonnie retired from K.B. Specialty Co. in Greensburg in June 1988.

She is survived by her son Robert (Norma) Mayes of Batesville, two daughters Helen (the late Richard) Williams of Batesville and Betty Mollaun of Murray, KY; two grandsons, five granddaughters, 15 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Marie Mayes who died as an infant, two grandsons, her sisters Ruby Boyd, Carloda Conrad, Gladys Baugus & Helen Tubbs and brothers Covie, Jessie, Wilson, Patterson, Lexie & Edward Ray Allen.

Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 from 1-3pm with funeral services immediately following at 3pm, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.  Pastor Dan Wolford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rossburg Cemetery in New Point, IN.
