Obituary

Walter John Snyder, age 90 of the Batesville, IN community passed into eternal life on July 12, 2014 at his home. Born September 24, 1923 in McCreary Co., Kentucky he was the son of John & Gertrude (Harris) Snyder. He graduated from Colerain High School in 1941. Walter was an avid farmer and most people knew him as "The Corn Man". He wasn't much on joining organizations because farming was his life. He sold his produce at the Lunken Airport Farmers Market in Cincinnati, OH for many generations. When he wasn't in the fields, he was always talking with folks and he never met a stranger. He was known to do anything for anyone. He also liked watching western movies. Anyone that knew him would say he was a very hard working person. His family and anyone who knew him will miss him very much. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 55 ½ years Lucille Cook Snyder, 4 children Dian Snyder Keith (Tony) Reindolf, John Edward (Tina) Snyder, Walter "Wally" Eugene Snyder, and Jimmy Dean (Betty Adams) Snyder. He will also be missed by his 5 loving grandchildren Tony (Krista Gutzwiller) Keith Jr., Andy (Alicia Eckstein) Keith, Sara Diane Snyder, Lance Clayton Snyder and Gavin Ernest Snyder and 5 loving great grandchildren Jordan, Dallas, Alexis, Jasmin and Walker Edmund Keith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Claude, Ben, Mack & Rob and his sisters Edna, Ruth & Hazel.
